Help us raise awareness for Endometriosis Awareness Month! 💛
Many of our customers purchase heat packs to assist with menstrual pain - there’s no doubt that the warmth of organic wheat and the scent of organic essential oils helps remarkably during times of pain or discomfort. One of the most debilitating menstrual conditions which, unfortunately, is becoming more and more widespread each year, is Endometriosis. This condition affects over 800,000 Australian women and is often not diagnosed for years due to a lack of awareness. It’s so important that young women are empowered with knowledge about this condition, and health care workers are ready with facts, and helpful information, in regards to everything from diagnosis to treatment.
March has been known as Endo Awareness Month worldwide since 1993, and the colour yellow is now aligned with Endo thanks to the first-ever "yellow" information brochure that circulated back in 1980 and gained worldwide attention. Endometriosis Australia is a registered charity that not only helps raise awareness, but also provides facts and quality information for women diagnosed with Endometriosis (Endo Warriors!), and raises money for further research.

"Endometriosis Australia is a nationally accredited charity that endeavours to increase recognition of endometriosis, provide endometriosis education programs, and to raise funding for endometriosis research.
Endometriosis is a common disease in which the tissue that is similar to the lining of the womb grows outside it in other parts of the body. Many people are unaware that 1 in 9 Endo Warriors suffers from endometriosis at some point in their life with the disease often starting in teenagers.
Symptoms are variable and this may contribute to the 7 to 12-year delay in diagnosis.
Endometriosis is reported to cost Australian society $9.7 billion annually with two-thirds of these costs attributed to a loss in productivity with the remainder, approximately $2.5 billion being direct healthcare costs. Comparatively, diabetes costs about $1 billion annually in direct healthcare costs.”
At DunnSmith Organics, we have created a limited edition Wheat Pack & Eye Pillow specifically for Endometriosis Awareness Month - and of course, they are yellow! Yellow is such a bright, optimistic colour, and not only aligns with the charity and helps raise awareness, but represents the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura), known in the Yoga community for promoting positive energy, strength, and confidence: the characterises of every Endo Warrior!
